Oh, let's see.

I had the chance to see Fischerspooner and Ssion live last week and it was the best goddamn show of my life. Theatrics, dancers, videos, costuming, mirror tricks, and of course fantastic music. I was in the very front of the crowd pushed up against the railing, dancing my little heart out, and I'm totally gonna be in their tour film. I'll be the short, dykey, fauxhawked chick in a white v-neck. Ha! More details here at the blag.

I feel kind of unproductive, I need to haul out my paints and just do something. Work is exhausting, especially since I'm toiling away in retail trying to scrounge up enough cash to pay for fucking rent next semester. Uggghh being an adult sucks it.

Speaking of, even though no one knows who the hell I am, if anyone passing by is mad impressed by what I have to show here, feel free to hit me up for a commission. I'm fairly cheap (ha!) and don't have any delicate sensibilities to offend, so bring it on.

Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe
eh. "In Chains" is fantastic, the rest of the album is downhill from there. DM's best songs are about bondage, anyway. I hate the one they decided to release as a single, "Wrong". self-indulgent piss. blerrrgh. Oingo Boingo did it better with "On the Outside".

IAMX - Kingdom of Welcome Addiction
love. so much love. "Tear Garden" makes my blood run faster, and "My Secret Friend" with Imogen Heap is a really gorgeous duet. it's all good, really.

Patrick Wolf - the Bachelor
haven't listened to it enough yet, but so far I'm pleased. "Vulture" and "Hard Times" are tentative faves. "Damaris" is really fucking epic.

oh. back at universitee and installed in a better-decorated dorm room with a friend living on the other side of it. back into routine, you know--massive studio classes, theataaah, drawing marathons, spending too much time at the teahouse, poking my septum, dancing, clubbing, spending a depressing amount of money on textbooks and art supplies, keeping a running tally of how many times my anthropology professor says "gennduh" in each class, hanging out in trees. same old, same old.
